I think everybody who has played Skyrim or has heard about Skyrim has heard about the meme: "I took an arrow to the knee." I've heard that the game is incredibly AWESOME and was already receiving GOTY nominations before its release just because it's a free-roaming RPG made by Bethesda. I'll admit that Fallout 3 was an incredible game and I put in many hours into it. The only reason I put it down was because the game was fairly buggy and kept freezing on me so my frustration prevented me from actually beating the main story.
Talking about Skyrim, so many people have been enthralled in its world that I'm beginning to believe that people are abandoning their real lives and taking to arms to live within the virtual world of Skyrim. With such an influential game, there is always bound to have some effects on the internet. With seeing all of these well done Skyrim flashes here on Newgrounds, it is well known that the internet's favorite game is Skyrim hands down (if they aren't already playing it).
The only beef I have with the presence of this game is the constant presence of the meme "I took an Arrow to the knee" which is just recycled material said by almost any guard in the game.
Seeing as this is a Bethesda open-world game, I expected some copy and paste in some generic characters for example the 8 voice actors that appeared to be in Fallout 3 for each gender that I noticed. Obviously Skyrim is more polished and detailed so not so many instances of repetitive people will be found in this game. By seeing this meme everywhere in the comment sections everywhere made me confused at first because I didn't get it, but now that I do, it is getting extremely ANNOYING...
Other memes are tolerable and I often overlook them as overused (Except 'you mad bro?' love that one). The most prominent areas I've seen these bursting out of is every comment feed at ign and anything mentioning a speck of Skyrim. It doesn't help that these comments get thumbs upped just because they put it in there either.
Guess we'll have to endure this meme until the next big thing...
